Cameras Captured Deadly Crash of Private Jet Owned by Motley Crüe’s Vince Neil, Authorities Blame Landing Gear

“Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved,” his representative said

Videos captured the moment a private jet owned by Motley Crüe’s Vince Neil collided with another in a deadly incident at an airport in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Monday, Feb. 10.

Authorities have said that Neil’s plane experienced problems with its landing gear at the Scottsdale Airport.

Footage of the collision shows how it unfolded:

The landing plane sped down the runway and then slammed into a larger, parked plane — the latest in a string of aviation incidents around the country that have drawn new attention following the American Airlines Flight 5342 crash in late January.

One person died in the crash in Scottsdale, officials said. Three others were taken for medical treatment.

Neil said in a statement through a representative that there were four people on his jet when it crashed while “attempting to land,” but he was not onboard.

“For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane,” Neil’s representative said. “On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers.”

“More specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is an ongoing investigation,” the representative continued. “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”

The names of the victims have not been released by authorities, but a since-deleted statement by Motley Crüe on social media said that one of Neil’s plane’s pilots was the person who died and that Neil’s girlfriend and her friend were hurt as well.

Jet Pros, the company that owns the other plane that was hit, said in a statement that they had one crew member aboard at the time of the collision.

He was “treated and released” and the company is “cooperating fully” with authorities.

“We are saddened to hear about the lives lost and injured …. Our condolences go out to the family members of those affected by this terrible accident,” the company said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
